The Brazilian Thalassemia Association (ABRASTA) is a non-profit charity. Member of the International Thalassemia Federation (TIF). Founded on August 6, 1982, by a group of parents of people with thalassemia,
ABRASTA works to offer people with thalassemia an easy and fast access - preferably from the first months of life - to the best treatment and quality of life.
They invest in programs aimed at increasing knowledge about the disease as well as psychological and legal support from the moment of diagnosis, as well as intense program scheduling and updating programs for physicians.
